Surprising supporters and detractors alike, mercurial Steelers fan Doug Roth released an otherwise unannounced 37-minute diss track aimed at running back Le’Veon Bell during a local happy hour today.

“Doug had a full-length vulgar tirade about the Jesse James call just last year, so I didn’t think we’d hear something from him so soon,” said Ryan Hutchinson, noting that he has grown less interested in Roth’s work as its shock value has waned. “It had everything you would expect from him — an angry delivery, tons of cursing, a few clever lines here and there — but it felt kind of forced, maybe a bit too formulaic.”

Fellow bar regular Ron Muller agreed that Roth’s new material too closely mirrored his previous enraged diatribes.

“I’ll still give a listen to anything new he does because I’ve been following him for years,” he said. “That said, I’d like to see a little more creative ambition next time. How many times can you call a guy a ‘greedy overrated piece of shit’ until the whole thing sounds recycled?”

Roth refused to comment whether he planned to unveil more material over the coming days. Bar sources indicated, though, that he appeared to be already working on an unrelated follow-up, screaming at a music news brief on TV that Detroit-based rapper Eminem “needs to pull his fucking pants up.”
