Despite the end of winter weather, PennDOT has issued a warning overnight to Pittsburgh motorists reminding them that roadways may still be covered with dangerous patches of other Pittsburgh motorists this morning.

“Once the initial impact has passed, a lot of people around here think they’re in the clear,” said PennDOT spokesperson Christa Lang. “Even the next day, though, what looks like a harmless stretch of road could turn out to be two Pittsburghers in oversized sedans veering between three lanes at 30 miles per hour under the speed limit, so please everyone stay alert.”

PennDOT says it tries to pre-treat drivers with common sense for such treacherous conditions, but admits that, during the winter, “it really doesn’t do shit.”
