GREEN TREE — Citing the caller’s poor reasoning, blind support for team owners, and highly implausible trade suggestions, WXDX listeners have expressed their belief that “Jake from Highland Park” is finally the caller who will cause Mark Madden to enter cardiac arrest on air.
“When this guy came out the gates calling Bob Nutting an ‘accomplished risk taker,’ I swear I could hear Mark groan in distress,” said fan Bryan Shuleski, hurriedly pulling out his phone to record the exchange. “Now we’re 15 seconds into a Connor McDavid for Dominik Simon swap, and there’s no reason Madden wouldn’t have hung up unless he were forced to clutch painfully at his chest or already lying half-dead on the floor.”
Regular listener Sheena Bricker suggested that Madden’s silence following several obviously dubious points made so far by the caller could indicate a major health incident.
“I’m not sure how [the caller] got away with claiming Mario Lemieux played several years in the KHL,” she said. “Maybe Mark is biding his time, but even I step outside for a second after Jake here referred to Mike Mitchell as the modern-day Mel Blount. At this point, I’m thinking of calling 911 on the station’s behalf because something has to be wrong.”
Similarly, 93.7 The Fan listeners have voiced their hope that the current commercial is finally the one that will transition back to actual programming.
