BRENTWOOD — Local man Gus Naismith conceded today that his wife Linda’s Mexican cooking, “while it ain’t too shabby,” could never surpass what he ordered as an 11-year-old on his church’s “mission trip” to the former Chi Chi’s restaurant on McKnight Road in the North Hills.
“It’s not entirely fair to her,” said Naismith, asking for more ranch dressing to go with his chicken and cheese quesadilla. “When you voyage to faraway lands, you tend to make every bit of the experience extra special — be it a fascinating banana split burrito or a sultry-tongued McCandless woman overwhelming you with terms like ‘rojo’ and ‘queso.’ For a South Hills boy in wondrous territory abroad, the exotic flavors of that Mexican Pizza are now part of an unforgettable sensory adventure that nobody, my sweetheart included, could ever match.”
As of press time, Naismith had reportedly asked his significant other to pass the dish of enchiladas and bottle of ketchup.
